Before I shelved my 2011 journal yesterday (or last year...heh heh, I never get tired of making those jokes. For instance, I'm glad I ate this morning. I haven't done that since last year. I crack myself up), I took some time to reflect on the year 2011. It was a typical year for Seth and me which, if any of you know us well, was not a typical year at all. But through it all, God taught me some great lessons in patience, humility, perseverence, and those are the things that I can just share publicly
The old is gone.
And now it's 2012. Twenty twelve. Two thousand and twelve. The year of our Lord two thousand and twelve. A new year and time for a new start.
Don't we all welcome one of those? A new start? A clean slate?
The new has come.
This morning I cracked open a new journal that I was given for Christmas (I love doing that every January 1), and as I stared at all the blank pages waiting to be filled and this part of my story that is yet to be written, I thanked God for new beginnings and the opportunity to let Him write the pages of my story.
What are you celebrating on this New Year's Day?
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, that person is a new creation! The old has gone, the new is here!"
-2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)
