But at Christmastime, I love to decorate the half wall with greenery, baubles, and the first few of our Christmas cards that arrive.
I am especially a fan of this adorable, old-fashioned lamp that I found last year....
We also hang our stockings from the half wall with care. Many people ask me why we do not have matching stockings and the answer is...I do not care for things to be too matchy matchy. I like things to be eclectic and distinctive and come together on their own. Plus, Santa would be confused if they were all alike. ;)
But alas, the Prince does not understand why the half wall is his for every other week out of the year except during the Christmas season, so he often scrambles up onto the half wall and wreaks havoc. He knocks cards down and greenery off, and more than once we have found a graveyard of half-chewed fake berries on the ground beneath it. So Seth pulls out ye olde squirt bottle...his nemesis.
And then Prince Caspian has a choice to make.

Poor Prince. :( He just wants his half wall back!
